Viewing the archives of this blog site, you will notice numerous posts about what is it that people seem to talk confused about what’s in this office, in 15th Floor Octagon Bldg in Pasig City, and 26th Floor Trafalgar Plaza in Makati. Redundantly and as to re-affirm, that company is Nu Skin and concurrently Pharmanex Philippines. 15th Floor Octagon Building - the real ethics practiced by the company
What's in 15th Floor Octagon Bldg is Nu Skin Enterprises Philippines office and is already in the 12th year in the industry. 12 years for a multinational company is a pretty hard record to beat for something to be labeled as a “scam”, particularly here in the Philippines. Nu Skin Philippines is operating at the 15th Floor Octagon Bldg, in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. A subject of negative allegations and false speculations, Nu Skin Philippines actually carry 12 years worth of success in the following principle they practice. One of the principal ways that Nu Skin demonstrates its difference is through high-caliber people. This includes the global network of nearly 800,000 active distributors. The corporate office encourages their distributors to not only strive for continued growth in their business pursuits, but also in every aspect of their lives. When they say “encourage distributors”, it means to constantly look for ways to grow and develop, they become the kind of leaders who can overcome hurdles, inspire others and enjoy success.
That’s why, from the moment Nu Skin started, the central mission has been to improve people’s lives. Everything they do—from scientifically substantiated products to unique corporate culture and dynamic business opportunity—is meant to empower people to improve life for themselves and those around them. This focus on personal development has always been, and will always be, vital to their growth as a company. Simply implying, that the corporate is responsible for their distributors and that they would not risk such position in the industry in trade for deceit and scam.

Nu Skin's Sincere Beginnings
From its founding 25 years ago, Nu Skin Enterprises’ mission has been to improve people’s lives—through quality products, rewarding business opportunities, and an uplifting and enriching culture. In their non-profit Force For Good Foundation alone, Nu Skin has demonstrated how they were able to achieve this mission of improving lives in a global scale. Twenty five (25) years of hard and credible work didn’t take over night, and they’ve started from humble beginnings:
In a 1993 convention speech, Blake Roney, chairman and co-founder of Nu Skin Enterprises, used the phrase “force for good” as he shared his vision of how he wanted the company, its distributors, and employees to be known around the world. This phrase articulated the company’s values and has become the central theme of the company’s overall mission and philanthropic efforts. The original“force for good” campaign was introduced in conjunction with the Nu Skin Epoch® product line in 1996. This unique brand of skin and hair care products was developed in partnership with the world’s leading ethnobotanists—scientists who study the relationship between plants and indigenous cultures. A donation of 25 cents from the sale of each Epoch product is directed to preserve the environments, languages, lifestyles, and traditions of indigenous people around the world.
Not long after, Nu Skin Enterprises saw the need to formalize its philanthropic endeavors by creating an official foundation. The Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation was chartered to emphasize support for children, and continued to be funded from Nu Skin Epoch product donations. The Foundation is committed to making a difference for thousands, if not millions, of children for generations to come.
For the last 25 years, I believe Nu Skin proved their credibility to the world time and again, and I see no point why Filipinos would doubt them simply because of misinformation, often times, misunderstanding and misjudgment. Many are quick to be cynical by reading negative qualms, but how many truly looked the other way? By openly looking for the real facts, that Nu Skin is a legitimate and credible business for the past 25 years.

Nu Skin continues its humanitarian efforts
Last September 28, 2009 when Metro Manila and the rest of the country got hit with "Ondoy", Nu Skin Enterprises Philippines initiated a donation drive from staff and distributors to help the victims. Through many people's generosity, they were able to gather close to P200,000.00 of monetary donations and was matched by the company. It also includes donations of clothes, canned goods, noodles and biscuits and assorted shoes, slippers, towels and bags.
And where did all these "Ondoy" Relief goods went?
TUMANA, MARIKINA - An area in Marikina that was drenched with mud and water caused by "Ondoy". Last October 2, Nu Skin staff delivered and handed over the goods to its 75 families. Victims expressed their deepest appreciation with a smile. No scammer has actually made a contribution this serious to society, hasn’t it? We do not need to be actual geniuses to know the difference.
What sets Nu Skin apart?
Nu Skin (or Nu Skin Philippines for this matter) is simply a vehicle for one to achieve two essential Freedoms: Time & Financial. The kind of freedom that is available to everybody, but somehow restricted to those who are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it. Nu Skin offers one the chance, an opportunity, to make a person's life better. As employment is another vehicle, so is business. So why should Nu Skin's practice of business be any different? because in this ever changing world, traditional business may not always be quite palatable. Traditional businesses would require 100% of one’s own effort whilst Nu Skin offers the opportunity to cope with the fast changing world and still take advantage of the world’s readily available market. Saturation would always be a looming discouragement in thought, but it is only applicable to those who believe that the world is flat, or at least to those who are skeptic to themselves, the company, the products or in the idea of innovation.
Nu Skin, operating locally in the Philippines at 15th Floor Octagon Bldg, Pasig, is far from a scam others have been throwing at. A company of this kind can’t go wrong in 48 markets.

Nu Skin implements 21 years old and above sign-up for its new members
Many say that Nu Skin accepts or sanctions members and distributors that are still in their teens. Truth is, company implements a strict 21 years old and above signing up. The independent Distributors are at the front-end of the business nature of Nu Skin and corporate management maintains a protocol that sees to it that its policies and procedures are professionally executed at all times. Sure, anybody and everybody can be an independent distributor of the company if they wished to, provided they present legal and valid requirements. These are rules by Nu Skin to make explicitly sure that new distributors do the business legitimately and professionally. They are trained to handle it as their personal businesses and to never elude to a scam-like manner. Company policies and procedures are strictly applied like any other companies and corporations worldwide, and above all they practice moral codes of both (personal and business) ethics that the company compulsory teaches each of their new Distributors if they are to be made the sales arms of the company. They are deliberately trained not to deceive both customers and prospective business partners, otherwise, the company will risk its credibility it has been maintaining.
Negative attacks are pointed towards the nature of 15th Flr. Octagon Bldg that interpret that the company is allegedly harboring under aged, teenagers, to do their business. Sure, there are a few rotten tomatoes out there that unfortunately do the business the wrong way, but Nu Skin does ways that these are dealt with accordingly. Such accusations are obviously present in the light of the negative stereotype that the Philippines view the network marketing business. It is unfortunate that some distributors put the company in a bad light, but the fact of it is that the company not only encourages its people to be professional, but requires it explicitly.
Nu Skin’s corporate management, trains and guides their distributors to do business the right and legitimate way. And they may be responsible for what their sales arm reflects upon them, but it is not fair enough to lay down verdict negatively towards it as a whole. That is my opinion, from what I have seen, experienced, and have personally done.
